Traykit

Anyone who watched  the Dragon’s Den programs in September series 8 episode 9 can’t fail to be impressed by the kids Tray kits. The viewers saw the Dragons Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden invest £80,000 in the TrayKit system which is a  kid’s backpack with a built in play tray. This clever design means that kids can have their own backpack to carry while travelling on planes, trains or in the car and everything will be stacked neatly inside. The traykit actually straps to the back of seat in front giving the child their own fold out tray table infront of them The back of the Traykit has pockets and straps for  holding the child’s toys and games. The tray kit keeps the child amused on long journeys while ensuring that their toy, games, pens etc get kept in one place and aren’t sent rolling around the flooor

The Dragons Den TrayKit is bound to be a winner as kids love to have their own bags with their own play things – it makes them feel like a grown up! The Traykit can also be useful at home as way for helping to keep the kids toys contained in one area.

Deborah Meadon’s own website describes the tray kit as “TrayKit is the all-in-one kid’s carry-on backpack and play tray - a kid’s backpack which can strap to train and plane tray tables and hang from the seat in front, when in a car. Once in place it unzips to provide the perfect space for drawing and playing with toys. There are even special pockets for pens, snacks, games consoles and favourite toys plus the clever design means it still remains open if the person in front reclines their seat. An extendable shelf makes a larger play area if needed and TrayKit has a raised edge all the way round to stop playthings rolling onto the floor.”

Deborah, who is one of the most prolific investors in the den frequently invests in ideas that solve simple problems, and the Tray Kit certainly solves an issue that many many parents will be familiar with.

Even before the show went out there has been a hook- up with British airways, talk about taking the product to the point of need, I can see frustrated parents shelling out on the spot to solve this problem, we done!

We found the price to be consistent at  £24.99 but this is no surprise given that it is a new product.  We recommend mothercare, it is interesting to note that at the time or writing they are still calling it a ‘web exclusive’, but we also found it at www.contentandcalm.com.
